Quality Puzzles: Knobs That Don't Fall Off
Peg puzzles are a staple for children and a staple in the Montessori classroom. However, a common occurrence is the knobs fall off. This is frustrating for the child and interrupts their concentration and is frustrating for the parent/teacher who is continually trying to repair them. For toddlers this is a potentially dangerous situation as detached knobs also pose a choking hazard.
Why does this happen? Because most manufacturers simply glue the knob to the puzzle piece. Over time the glue fails and the knob detaches from the puzzle.
Isn’t there a better way? Yes! We solved the problem by carving our knobs as part of the puzzle piece. That’s right – our puzzle pieces are carved from a single piece of wood so no glue is needed. No glue. No knobs falling off.
So why don’t other manufacturers do this? It’s more difficult, it’s more time consuming, and it’s more expensive. But, most of all, it’s innovative. It took thought and desire to say we don’t have to make a puzzle the way everyone else does. We can do it better.
We CAN make a puzzle with knobs:
- that will last
- that won’t fail
- that won’t cause frustration for a child
- that won’t cause danger for a child
- that won’t cause frustration and maintenance for parents and teachers.
Being parents and teachers, that’s important to us. Being a manufacturer, that is important to us. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality materials, and it shows.
